Where Labaro keeps your services and sign-ins, how to start a service afresh, and how to remove Labaro completely.
Where Labaro keeps things
| Folder | What’s in it |
|---|---|
~/Library/Preferences/labaro/ |
Your services and their settings, the sidebar’s order, which services are disabled, which have notifications on, and your Settings |
~/Library/Application Support/labaro/ |
The log, the last day’s notifications, and a key WhatsApp needs to stay linked |
~/Library/WebKit/app.labaro.dev/ |
Each service’s sign-in and saved data, in a folder of its own |
None of it is in the app itself, so replacing or deleting the app leaves it alone.
To open one of these folders, choose Go → Go to Folder… in Finder (⇧⌘G) and paste its path.
What’s kept about your messages
- The notifications list in Tools → Notifications keeps what your notifications said, message text included, for 24 hours. It’s in
notification-history.jsonin Application Support. Clearing the list deletes them. - The log records which pages each service loaded, and what the pages wrote to their developer console. It doesn’t record what your notifications said. It starts afresh each time Labaro opens.
- Sign-ins and service data stay in each service’s own folder. Deleting the service deletes it, on macOS 14 or later.
Start a service afresh
When a service won’t load properly, starting it with fresh data often fixes it. You’ll need to sign in again.
The easy way, on macOS 14 or later: delete the service, then add it again. Right-click its icon and choose Delete…. Its sign-in and data go with it. You’ll need to set its options again.
To keep its settings:
- Open
~/Library/Preferences/labaro/added-services.jsonin a text editor. Find the service, and copy the value of itssession_key. - Quit Labaro.
- In
~/Library/WebKit/app.labaro.dev/WebsiteDataStore/, delete the folder with that name. - Open Labaro. The service starts signed out, with fresh data.
Start everything afresh
- Quit Labaro.
- Delete the three folders listed above.
- Open Labaro. It starts as on its first launch.
Uninstall
- Quit Labaro.
- Drag Labaro from Applications to the Bin.
- Delete the three folders listed above.
Very old versions of Labaro also kept a key in your keychain. To remove it, open Keychain Access, search for Labaro WebCrypto Master Key, and delete it.
