Updates and beta expiry
Get the newest version of Labaro, and what happens when a beta version runs out.
Check for updates
Choose Labaro → Check for Updates…. If there’s a newer version, click Download Now to download it in your browser, or Later to leave it. If you already have the newest, Labaro says so.
Labaro also checks each time it opens, and only says something when there’s a newer version. Turn this off in Settings.
Install an update
Labaro doesn’t install updates by itself yet. Once you’ve downloaded one:
- Quit Labaro.
- Open the zip, and drag Labaro into Applications. Choose Replace when asked.
- Open Labaro.
Your services, settings and sign-ins aren’t kept in the app, so they’re all still there. If macOS stops the new version from opening, do what you did the first time. See Install and first launch.
What’s changed
Labaro → Changelog shows what changed in the last 10 versions. All of them are on the releases page.
The 30-day beta
While Labaro is in beta, each version works for 30 days after it’s released.
After that, Labaro opens on a page saying the version has expired, with a button to download the latest. Install it as above. Your services and sign-ins stay as they are. A copy of Labaro that’s already open keeps working until you quit it.
To stay ahead of it, leave Check for updates when Labaro starts on.
